We are both parents who have taken a career break, returned to work and also started a business.

We met on the school run and subsequently have  job shared a role at Brunel University for the past 5 years working with industry and small businesses to help them with innovation and growth via mentoring, workshops and collaborative projects.

We are applying this experience and great connections we have made to create an exciting and engaging programme of short courses, run by experts, to help and inspire parents who want a better family and work-life balance.

Our focus is on helping parents with the challenges that family life brings from transitioning back to work and juggling work-life balance, to highly relevant topics such family nutrition/wellbeing and e-safety. We are constantly evolving our programme by listening to parents, hearing their stories and identify unmet needs.

The name Multiple Minds is key to our business and the way in which we work. We collaborate with experts to share their knowledge and expertise with our community of parents.

We believe that ‘multiple minds are better than one’, this is ingrained in our business philosophy, in the way we work, in building up our network of fabulous business professionals and in the community of parents who come together at our events. You never know who you may meet and who will make a difference or inspire you to decide on your future work options or path!

Paula Neal
Before having my children I worked for over 10 years as a specialist ‘Human- Centred’ researcher for the design and innovation industry, which was great fun!
I spent my days observing and understanding people living in Europe and the US and using behaviour insights to inspire designers to develop new products and services including children’s toys, domestic appliances, mobiles, consumer technology and even fire fighter equipment and industrial wearables!

I worked for both large international corporates such as BT and NCR and an innovative design consultancy called PDD. Then when my children were born it was a chance to reconsider my options, take some time off and enjoy being a Mum!
Amanda Baker
I have a graphic design background and worked in the Advertising Production industry for over 10 years before having my two children.
It was a buzzing environment and I loved every moment, overseeing projects ranging from bespoke publications through to multinational campaigns and setting up online production systems for clients such as Clarks, Sainsbury’s, O2, GE, and Renault.

When I had my children I realised that I wanted to spend more time with them and enjoy seeing them grow up and develop, so I started working part time which fitted in with our family life.

Muriel McClymont
Coach & Trainer
A career break to have my children also became a career change when I knew I wanted to find alternative work that was more compatible for me than returning to senior management in the corporate world.

I considered what parts of my corporate life I had most enjoyed, and identified that it was working with people. I then trained as a coach, which I love and which I share in the additional forms of training and writing.

It is very important to me to work with people to help them find what they want to do, and to offer them the support and tools they need to achieve that.

As a Coach and Trainer I work with a range of organisations including FEU Training, Equity, BFI Academy in Wales, GFTU and Directors UK. I cover many topics most notably Confidence Building, Presentation Skills, Negotiation, Goals, Resilience, Sales, Change Management and Leadership.

A member of The Association for NLP Professions (ANLP) and a published author, I recently contributed a chapter on Developing Resilience in The PPD Learning NLP Practice Group Book.
